Aerial installer: Bank/finance charges/interest

You may decide to borrow some money to finance your aerial services business, either by way of an overdraft or a loan.

You'll have to pay interest on any money borrowed. There will also be bank charges due on the operation of your business bank account. Interest and charges are normally debited from your bank account every quarter - your bank will help you to estimate the amounts that will be due.

If you accept payment by credit card, you'll need a 'merchant account' and you'll have to pay monthly credit card charges. You bank will be able to provide you with a merchant account and let you know what the cost of running the account would be.

Enter your anticipated bank charges, interest payments and merchant account charges in the cash flow under 'Bank/finance charges and interest'.

Smartphone apps are available to enable trades-people like aerial installers to accept card payments easily when they're out and about.
