Industry sector: Business services

Office based: Cash purchases

'Cash purchases' are payments you make to suppliers of goods or services with whom you don't have an account - so you pay for them when you buy them.

For example, an IT consultant who is networking a client's computers might need an item such as a network card right away, which could be obtained from a local computer supplier and paid for at the time of purchase.

Cash purchases don't include things like tea and coffee bought for use at work, or items such as business stationery.

Remember to keep safely any invoices and receipts for any Cash purchases you make, even if the amounts are small.
