You're likely to spend a certain amount both on promoting your business and on general postage costs - sending out invoices, paying bills by cheque and so on. Enter in your cash flow forecast the amounts you will spend on:
- postage. You are likely to spend a certain amount on a regular basis, for example when sending out promotional material and recordings
- business stationery such as letterheads, invoices and so on. Your local printer will be able to give you an estimate of how much a package of essential business stationery costs. You will probably pay for this in month one or two and then reorder as necessary later in the year
- miscellaneous stationery items
- advertising. In the course of promoting an artist you are likely to spend a certain amount on promotion, which may include sending out promotional copies of a song, offering free digital downloads, having posters printed, organising gigs or club nights and so on. You may also decide to advertise your label on a regular basis in the music press to raise its profile so that artists know that you exist. You're also likely to promote your label and your artists on social media
