Caravan site: Rent

Although is more commonplace for a caravan park operator to own the freehold in the site, it might be the case that you propose to rent or lease the property from someone else. If this is the case, enter in your cash flow forecast the amount of rent you will have to pay in the months in which you will have to pay it.

If you're a tenant on agricultural land and are looking to use some or all of that land for diversification purposes, you should check your tenancy agreement to make sure that this is allowed. There's further guidance on agricultural tenancies and diversification available on the Gov.uk website.

Your solicitor will help you with the lease agreement but make sure that you are clear about:

  • whether the property can be used for the purposes you have in mind
  • how frequently the rent will be reviewed
  • how long the lease runs for
  • what you and the landlord are each responsible for
